Concerned Residents Sign Petition to Save Concordia ER

The organizers of a petition to save the emergency room at Concordia Hospital plan on taking it to health minister Kelvin Goertzen next week.
The province announced last week that emergency services would be consolidated to three sites in Winnipeg; that means three would be done away with: two are to be converted into urgent care centres, while Concordia is to lose its 24-hour emergency service entirely, and instead focus on orthopedics and geriatric rehabilitation.
Andy Regier is the one who started the petition.
He says people in the northeast pocket of the city are nervous about how far they will have to travel for emergency and urgent care services.
